A Thank-you Note to Fall
by Patricia Hubbell
Leaves like brilliant birds that flutter,
Wind, that plays with door and shutter,
School, and friends both old and new,
Football, soccer, (turkeys too)
Pumpkins, apples, geese in V's
Icy lace where puddles freeze,
Thank you, fall, for all of these!
Summer
by Elizabeth Swados
Tsss
Summer sounds,
Tsss
Concrete and heat,
Sneakered feet on tar,
Stepping on melted candy bar,
Squish
Crunch, crunch
Gravel on the street,
Whoosh
Hydrant waterfall,
Zzzzt
The sun's an orange basketball
Bonk bonk
Summer sounds,
And then the
Summer's gone.
The Dragon fly
by Douglas Florian
I am the dragon,
The demon of the skies.
Behold my bold
Enormous eyes.
I sweep
---I swoop
-----I terrorize
For lunch I munch
On flies and bees.
Mosquitoes with
My feet I seize.
I am the dragon:
Down on your knees!
She Loves You
by The Beatles
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
You think you lost your love,
Well, I saw her yesterday.
It's you she's thinking of
And she told me what to say.
She says she loves you
And you know that can't be bad.
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad.
